The writing is on the floor for bacteria as the pioneers of antimicrobial product protection, BioCote Ltd, and anti-slip film specialists, MediFilm, unite to clean up hospital wards and improve efficiency.
BioCote Ltd are pleased to announce their latest partnership with MediFilm, who will launch a new range of Visual Management floor graphics, protected by BioCote® silver ion antimicrobial technology, in January.
The deceptively simple universal floor graphics indicate visually in a hospital ward where specific equipment should be stored. They have been developed in direct response to the Productive Ward initiative, which aims to release time for patient care by introducing timesaving and ward-management processes. Bringing together both companies’ specialisms, the new graphics are both anti-slip and antimicrobial, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
BioCote® silver ion technology is impregnated into the graphics at the time of manufacture; it then provides permanent protection against the growth of bacteria and mould. The self-adhesive floor graphics are easy to apply, aesthetically pleasing and a more hygienic solution to marking out spaces for equipment within hospitals than tape.
As the first print run leaves the production line, many Heads of Nursing, ward managers and project managers in hospitals across the UK are already showing an interest and placing orders.
MediFilm’s Managing Director, Eddie Taylor, commented: “Thanks to this exclusive partnership, brought together by healthcare industry specialists MedilinkWM,
I believe MediFilm will rapidly be established as leaders in Healthcare Management Systems”.
“BioCote® is a well trusted brand in antimicrobial protection and as more NHS Trusts introduce the Productive Ward initiative, our antimicrobial floor graphics will be able to make a significant contribution to the concept of a well organised ward, whilst also helping to meet infection control objectives”.
Managing Director for BioCote Ltd, Matthew Harte, added: “The potential for antimicrobial protected products is growing all the time within the NHS, as this new product shows. We’re delighted to add MediFilm to our list of entrepreneurial partners, who give their products the edge by adding BioCote® protection.”
